National Kyokushin (KAY) and SENSHI Championship Successfully Held in Azerbaijan

On May 16-17, a national-level Kyokushin (KAY) and SENSHI Championship was successfully held in the Republic of Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the organization of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation. The event was conducted at a high professional standard, reflecting strong organizational capacity and strict adherence to modern sports regulations.
During the opening and closing ceremonies, Mr. Ulvi Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, along with well-known representatives of the sports community, coaches, and responsible officials of state sports structures, delivered speeches. They emphasized the importance of developing combat sports in Azerbaijan, increasing mass participation, engaging young athletes, and further strengthening the sports culture within the country.
Within the framework of the championship, official representative Mr. Gabil Sayadov, acting on behalf of the World Kyokushin Union (KWU) and SENSHI organization, highlighted the importance of continuous development of cooperation in this field. He noted that new and larger-scale projects are expected to be implemented in the future, underlining that the proper and high-level representation of KWU (SENSHI) in Azerbaijan remains a key priority.
It was also emphasized that the development and promotion of this combat sports style in Azerbaijan is consistently kept in focus by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation. The Federation continues to carry out systematic work aimed at expanding the sport nationwide, increasing athlete participation, improving professional standards, and strengthening international cooperation in line with global sporting practices.
